Finland militarily

In practise Finland has three neighbours: Russia, Sweden and Estonia. There is also a small border with Norway in the Lappland. Finland has an army with military service but most of all is a country with lots of negotiation skills. Finland knows how to balance on different interests, to which the rule "Live and let others live" (see the beginning of this blog) gives lots of help without giving any disadvantage in military questions. So in practise Finland is very sovereign nation.
Militarily Finland does not consider Sweden or Estonia any danger. Swedes are less skilled than Finns on their general skill level, which gives Finland an advantage, even though Sweden is somewhat bigger, but people on more southern areas, like lots of Sweden, do not work well in more northern areas, but the main difference is the huge difference in skills. Estonia is just small. Both are considered some kind of allies.
On the other hand Russia is considered a military threath since it is a very large nation with experience in war. So Finland has a tendency to be conquered by Russia. But since Finland is clearly a part of Europe and culturally unique, has a strong economy and a peaceful position as a democracy that takes part in international affairs, in this respect Finland has the tendency to gain autonomy under Russian influence. And via Finnish negotiation skills that leads soon, in days, back to independency, which is benefical both to Russia, Finland and the other nations of the world.
Finland has a strong interest in international affairs and tends to be social with more faraway nations, mostly with Europe and USA, somewhat with japan and the wide world too.

21th December 2019   Living in the cold climate demands skills, see https://finnishskills.blogspot.com/2014/11/living-with-seasons.html , but is enjoyable and increases wisdom, and so Finland offers a home worth defending.
